As expected, Donald Trump was acquited on both articles of impeachment Wednesday afternoon as the formal flexing on the issue between the American duopoly has come to an end.

The vote came after all Republicans (aside from Utah Senator Mitt Romney) last week voted to not hear from witnesses setting up today’s vote. Likewise, Romney was also the only member of the GOP to break with his party and vote for Trump’s removal while every single Democrat also voted for such.

Here are the final tallies:

In any sense, the timing of the impeachment process is still speculative considering it only happened after centrist Joe Biden was targeted by Trump which sprung House Speaker Nancy Pelosi into action. This of course overlooking the numerous times prior Trump should have been brought to impeachment in the House.

But if you’re hoping this is the end of the non-formal back-and-forth then you’re probably going to be disappointed. Some Democrats have expressed an interest in continuing the investigation into Trump’s Ukraine dealings while Lindsay Graham seemingly wants to get after Hunter Biden.
