Apple has recently filed a patent to develop technology that would block camera usage at venues that prohibit such activity 9to5Mac reports.
Currently, iPhone camera’s are only able to receive visible light however the new technology would enable circuitry within the device to also receive infrared light. This would mean concert venues could send signals to iPhones that would essentially block the camera from being used.

On the flip this technology could also have it’s benefits.
For instance if you’re at a museum you could point your phone at an exhibit and instantly receive information about it.
There’s no telling if Apple will actually move forward with this technology. They first applied for the patent back in 2011 however did reapply in 2014 according to Patently Apple.
