Singer Bebe Rexha took to social media Saturday saying she was a victim of discrimination when she attempted to communicate with a security guard at an airport in Munich, Germany.
In tears, the singer took to Instagram to describe the ordeal alleging that the supervisor on her Lufthansa flight threatened and banned her from her flight.
Rexha, who is of Albanian descent and learned the language at a young age, said she spoke Albanian with the security guard because she thought he would speak Albanian to her. However, according to Rexha this just led to a tense confrontation, and continued to say that the security personnel “mentally abused” her while brandishing power, and finally refusing to provide a name.
“Not one of the women at @Lufthansa stepped in or said something. He would not give me his name but I just found out he works for ATSG a service company document control hired by Lufthansa.”
Meanwhile, according to TMZ, Lufthansa is in contact with Rexha to further get her side of the story while iterating that the airline doesn’t “tolerate any sort of discriminatory behavior and will thoroughly investigate.”
Rexha’s emotional testimony comes only a few weeks after she expressed frustration with the greater music industry saying she’s been “undermined” and “silenced” for years.
