Beto O’Rourke is out of the Democratic race for President of the United States.
The former congressman who became a household name after taking Ted Cruz to the mat in a race for the Texas senate seat made his announcement on Twitter Friday evening.
Despite the successes O’Rourke had for his failed attempt at the Texas senate seat, he may have been the biggest bust when it came to candidates seeking Democratic nomination for POTUS.
O’Rourke — who was able to raise a shit ton of money in his senate campaign — wasn’t able to replicate that same momentum when it came to his presidential run. It certainly looked promising the first day of his campaign when the congressman raised $6 million dollars in donations, however, it was really all downhill for his campaign from there as O’Rourke quickly got lost in a crowded Democratic field.
Although O’Rouke has brushed off questions regarding another stab at that Texas senate seat that definitely seems like the next course of action for his political career.
