TMZ is reporting that film and television actor Bill Paxton has passed away at the age of 61 due to complications from surgery.
Confirming the news, the family released the following statement:
“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery.” The family accurately describes his “illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and flimmaker.” The family adds, “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”
Paxton had a lengthy film resume appearing in such films as “Twister” and “Titantic” as well as a smaller role in “True Lies” which was one of my favorites. He played the scumbag in that film very well. He also won an Emmy for his role in the “Hatfields and McCoys” and was currently on CBS’ “Training Day”.
