I feel a Donald Trump tweet storm on the horizon…
BuzzFeed News is reporting that President Donald Trump instructed his former personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about the Trump Tower Moscow Project. The report also says that Trump also ‘supported’ a plan originally set up by Cohen to visit Moscow during the presidential campaign and set up a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin to ‘jump-start’ the project.
As far as Cohen’s alleged direction to lie to Congress by the President, two law enforcement sources confirmed that Trump directed his former Lawyer to tell Congress that the Tower negotiations ended months earlier than it actually did. Cohen also reportedly informed Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Trump did in fact order him to perjure himself to Congress.
Furthermore according to BuzzFeed, Mueller’s office learned of Trump’s issue to Cohen to lie to Congress through multiple interviews with witnesses from the Trump Organization, internal company emails, text messages and other documents.
