After suggesting that he may have tapped recordings of his conversations with former FBI director James Comey, Donald Trump pulled back and admitted he doesn’t have the suspected recordings.
Trump made the announcement on his favorite platform to the public… Twitter!
With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea…

…whether there are "tapes" or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings.

Of course Trump could have saved himself the further speculation into his administration if only he didn’t tweet the following in the aftermath of the Comey firing:
James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

But instead of taking personal responsibility for his drunk-like tweet storms, I’m sure this is somehow Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama’s fault.
Trump however didn’t have much of a choice to end the speculation. The House Intelligence Committee investigating Russian meddling into the U.S. Presidential Election last year sent a letter to White House Counsel Don McGahn on June 9th demanding that any tapes be turned over by tomorrow.
