Jeff Sessions is out as Attorney General.
In the wake of yesterday’s midterm elections the former Alabama Senator who was one of the early supporters of Donald Trump and caught the ire of President Fake Bake almost since his swearing in submitted his resignation Wednesday.
However Sessions made it clear that his resignation didn’t come on his own.

Not that this is entirely surprising. However this is possibly the first step in Donald Trump getting rid of special counsel Robert Mueller who is currently still investigating the President for possible obstruction of justice and collusion with a foreign government among other possible misdeeds. Likewise, Sessions’ dismissal comes after the Democrats took control of the House which could possibly lead to an amped up investigation into the Trump administration. This too after the GOP failed to illicit any substantial looking in to while they were the majority in the lower chamber of Congress.
Meanwhile Trump was quick to name a temporary successor to Sessions confirming that Matthew Whitaker (Chief of Staff or AG Sessions) would take over as acting AG and would presumably assume control away from Rod Rosentstein over the Russia probe.
….We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.

CNN is also reporting that White House chief of staff John Kelly informed Sessions of his essential firing while Trump failed to deliver even a phone call.
