Thing aren’t going well for Donald Trump’s election overthrow efforts in Michigan and Georgia.
A day after his attorney Rudy Guiliani sputtered more nonsense about election fraud conspiracy theories while leaking bullshit from his head, Trump attempted to personally strong-arm and/or influence his way to a win in Michigan by inviting two GOP legislative leaders from that State to the White House.
The problem for Trump though, the two lawmakers from Michigan weren’t convinced and released a joint statement saying they have seen no evidence of election fraud in their state and that they’d follow the law when it comes to certifying the results of President-elect Biden.
“We have not yet been made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in Michigan and as legislative leaders, we will follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors, just as we have said throughout this election,” Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield said in a joint statement after meeting with Trump at the White House.
Meanwhile, in Georgia, Trump friendly governor Brian Kemp released his own statement confirming that his state will certify a win for Biden after the former Vice President turned that state blue for the first time since 1992.
“State law now requires the governor’s office to formalize the certification, which paves the way for the Trump campaign to pursue other legal options in a separate recount if they choose,” Kemp said as he tried to throw the Trump campaign somewhat of a bone criticizing some counties in his state for perceived election problems.
All this in Georgia coming after a recount in further confirmed Biden’s win over Trump by a mere 12,000 votes.
