Perugia has an extensive history dating back to the Etruscan period and became known as a ‘universities town’. The University of Perugia was established in 1308 with other colleges like the University of Foreigners was founded in 1573. It has remained as an important cultural center for Italy up until last night’s apocalyptic like tragedy.
So far over 70 people have been confirmed dead. That number too is obviously expected to rise.
