Hillary Clinton’s health is fair game

The Presidential Nominee for the Democrat Party Hillary Clinton has had some very public issues with her health of late, being swept away from public events without a notice, often being dragged away by her staffers as if they were carrying a dead body.

See for yourself if you haven’t already.

We as American citizens, those who will be electing her and trusting her to lead our country of over 300 million people better be damn sure she is ready for the job. This is why the answer of “it was dehydration related to pneumonia” just isn’t good enough. We as the electorate need access to the information necessary to make an informed decision about her ability to lead the free world. There isn’t anything sexist, racist, misogynist, or bigoted about it. Anyone who makes this claim is being intellectually dishonest and is illegitimizing all the other real claims of sexism, racism, and misogyny. That line of thinking is weak, easily refutable with impartial truth, and doesn’t belong in an honest debate about what is in the best interest of the United States of America.

If Hillary Clinton were just a private citizen and one of two people with a legitimate shot to be the leader of the free world, how she handled her health would be her concern and her concern alone. She lost her ability to just say “none of your damn business” when she won the nomination for the Democratic Party.

For the same reason the American electorate should be concerned about Republican Nominee Donald Trump’s temperament to handle intense situations, we should be concerned about Hillary Clinton’s health. A slip up in either could put the United States of America in a compromised position, which has the potential to adversely effect each and every one of us.

Hillary Clinton is 68 years old and will be 69 on election day. What happens to people who have lived lives of constant stress in their late 60’s? They break down and usually die not long after. Human’s are not meant to live like Hillary has for the last four decades. If she was a picture of health, I could consider giving her the benefit of the doubt, but she has been anything but.

If Hillary Clinton had a spotless public health record prior to this campaign, I could understand not paying much attention to it. But in the last four years alone, she’s had issues with falling, concussions, blood clots, double vision, coughing fits, and fainting. If this was your 68-year-old mother or grand mother, you’d likely be exploring assisted living options instead of running for President of the United States. If any of these were to pop up after her inauguration (besides the coughing fit), these issues would render her unable to fulfill the duties of President of the Untied States, thrusting a 2/3 term Senator, Tim Kaine into the most powerful role in the history of the world.

Donald Trump should be exposed to the same level of scrutiny when it comes to his health. After all, he is 70 years old himself. However, he doesn’t struggle with stamina and doesn’t have the public health issue list that Hillary Clinton does, yet alone in the last four years. If his health fades at all as election day closes in, run him through the ringer as well. It hasn’t, so he doesn’t have to live up to that level of scrutiny.

Hillary Clinton is only making it worse on herself and damaging her chances of becoming President of the United States by not being honest with the electorate. If her health won’t permit her to be the leader of the free world, then she would remove herself from the running if she cares about the country as much as she does. Since we can almost say for certain that her run for the White House doesn’t have much to do with love of country and is more about personal power (Donald Trump’s candidacy is too, so he has no moral high ground here either) just admit it for what it is, so the American electorate is making an informed position.

If Hillary Clinton is capable of being the next President of the United States, then so be it. But pretending like her health isn’t a big deal is just plain foolish.
