Friday, a new teaser trailer dropped for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which featured a possible return of a hugely prominent main character from the Lucas trilogies.
Emperor Palpatine, who was killed off in Return of the Jedi by Darth Vader is now being speculated to make a return in the latest Star Wars installment after his trademark laugh was heard during the trailer.
Off-hand, the addition of Palpatine in The Rise of Skywalker is an intriguing notion… on paper but can it bleach the J.J. Abrams shit stain from the underpants of the new trilogy?
Did Han Solo save The Force Awakens which was nothing more than A New Hope ripoff?
Nope.
Did Luke Skywalker save The Last Jedi a ripoff of The Empire Strikes Back?
No. In fact The Last Jedi was probably the worst installment yet.
Given the history, Palpatine won’t save The Rise of Skywalker which in and of itself already sounds like a Return of the Jedi rip off given the title.
Seriously… fuck J.J. Abrams.
