After a year of facing persistent and indiscriminate bombing from the occupational forces of Israel, the situation in Gaza continues to get worse.
According to reports from the ground, Israel has not only blockaded the Jabilia Refugee Camp in Northern Gaza, but they have begun to shell civilians trapped inside the camp.
Ordering evacuations and forcing civilians to flee areas only to kill them as they do so has been a modus operandi of the Israelis since the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Israel’s assault on Northern Gaza intensified back on October 6 in what was dubbed the “general’s plan,” which aims to turn the northern area into a “closed military zone”. Additionally, civilians in Jabalia are reporting a shortage of food, water, and medical supplies as at least 220 people alone have been killed in the operation since it started last week. Meanwhile, the United Nations has expressed concerns that Israel’s assault on Northern Gaza will further disrupt the second phase of polio vaccinations after an outbreak of the once-eradicated disease returned to the region.
So far, more than 42,000 people have been killed in Gaza by Israel, however, that number is said to be several times higher considering the countless number of people still trapped under the destruction. Not to mention all of this death and destruction hasn’t been without the United States and its tendency to sponsor terrorism. Since October of last year, the United States has sent roughly $17.9 billion in support of Israel’s genocidal campaign.
