Donโ€™t expect legendary director Martin Scorsese to have any part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Scorsese whoโ€™s responsible for the likes of Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas got all pretentious when it came to the MCU saying those movies are โ€œnot cinemaโ€.

The Guardian:

โ€œI tried, you know?โ€ the director said when asked if he had seen Marvelโ€™s movies. โ€œBut thatโ€™s not cinema.โ€

He continued: โ€œHonestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isnโ€™t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.โ€

In response to Scorsese, Avengers director Joss Whedon responded โ€œI rever Marty, & I do see his point, butโ€ฆ Well thereโ€™s a reason why โ€˜Iโ€™m always angry,โ€™ Whedon tweeted.

Anyways, itโ€™s not clear how many bottles of Don Scorsese had shoved up his ass when he made those comments, however it seems clear that the Directorโ€™s taste for movies doesnโ€™t transcend flicks who are good for taking naps too.

Okayโ€ฆ thatโ€™s going a bit far but what kind of close-minded asshole do you have to be to make the comment he made without actually taking time to watch the movies youโ€™re taking shots at?
