New York City was hit with a massive power outage Saturday leaving tens of thousands of Con Edison customers without power as Broadway theatres, subways, business and Times Square were left without any juice.

The cause of the problem according to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio was due to a manhole cover while Con Edison reported that they’re currently trying to restore power to roughly 42,000 customers, mainly on the west side of Manhattan.

Unconfirmed reports also suggest that these are the guys responsible for the blackout.

This story is still developing.
