Matt Drudge goes after Fox News for “bizarre(ly)” insensitive segment discussing domestic terrorism

Drudge

Matt Drudge, conservative founder of the news aggregator DRUDGE Report took an uncharacteristic shot at Fox News following a segment they aired discussing domestic terrorism, specially the bombs sent to a number of high profile democratic figures around the country and CNN as well as the shooting of the Tree of Life Synagogue Saturday morning.

Drudge first tweeted out a photo of smiling Outnumbered co-host Kennedy with the Fox graphic underneath.

Drudge followed up that tweet with this:

Shit…

Anyways, Drudge’s criticism eventually forced the network to release the following statement:

“Kennedy made an unrelated quip at the end of the segment which was focused on unity – there was absolutely no joking or laughing about the events of this weekend and a screen grab of her smiling is hardly indicative of the entire segment. The lower third should not have been up for the duration of this segment as it was not fully reflective of what the panelists were discussing.”

Drudge however wasn’t done:

It’s going to be hard for conservatives to refer to this as a ‘snowflake’ reaction from Drudge considering the guy has been a stalwart for the right for as long as anyone can remember. If anything the segment itself, in all aspects from the chyron, to the discussion, to the takes were sloppy and certainly could’ve been more organized given the gravity of the topics in hand and as Drudge eluded to, what happened less than 48 hours prior.
