Don’t bet on this Donald Trump/Russian connection to go away anytime soon. In fact we’re probably just peeling away this skin of the onion.
In a report from the New York Times, the President’s campaign aides had repeated contact with Russian intelligence in the year prior to the election. More over, American officials intercepted the communication between the two camps around the same time it’s suspected Russian hackers were meddling around with the U.S. presidential election.
American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.
CNN reportedly has the names of campaign officials who communicated with Russia however are waiting for comment until the names are released.

Needless to say the dots continue to be connected concerning the Trump campaign and administration whose had an unusually friendly relationship with the Kremlin given the circumstances. It’s unclear if these suspected names attained by CNN are in addition to the Trump officials who have already been outed as having communication with Russia namely Carter Page, former campaign chief Paul Manafort and recently ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Aside from the obvious questions in terms of who else may be involved and to what capacity, where exactly does all of this go from here? Especially in a GOP led congress?
