One of the entertainment gems of 2018 was without a doubt Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Who is America”. The program which aired on Showtime pretty much outed a bunch of right-wing political nut jobs for their actual backwards viewpoints or got them to perform some pretty bizarre stunts that fully made your question their right mindedness.
One of those politicians was former Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore who lost his bid to represent his state on Capital Hill because A. He is a complete nut job and B. he was probably outed as a pedophile by multiple women during his campaign.
Anyways, during the stunt Moore was brought to Washington DC on an all-expenses paid trip to receive an award for supporting Israel and to meet with an ‘anti-terrorism expert’ which was Cohen in disguise.
During the interview, Cohen talked with Moore on how Israel was using ‘seismic waves’ to detect tunnels dug by Hamas and that they had developed a wand to detect sexual pedophiles due to an ‘enzyme’ they secrete.
It was there when things got awkward…
Via Deadline:
Holding the wand, Cohen said it will make no noise “because neither of us are sex offenders.” It remained silent as he moves it over himself.
Turning to Moore, Cohen waved the wand, which emitted a beeping sound.
“It must be faulty. It’s malfunctioning,” Cohen said, then tried it several more times on himself. Silence.
Cohen then asked Moore, “Is this your jacket? Did you lend the jacket to somebody else?”
Moore shot back: “I’ve been married for 33 years, I’ve never had an accusation of such things,” If this is an instrument, then certainly I’m not a pedophile.”
“I am simply cutting this conversation right now,” he said and walked off.
Moore is now suing Cohen, as well as Showtime and Showtime’s parent CBS for $95 million dollars because of the following:
“This false and fraudulent portrayal and mocking of Judge Moore as a sex offender, on national and international television, which was widely broadcast in this district on national television and worldwide, has severely harmed Judge Moore’s reputation and caused him, Mrs. Moore, and his entire family severe emotional distress, as well as caused and will cause Plaintiffs financial damage.”
This also comes despite Moore signing a waiver which the judge and his lawyer Larry Klayman says was ‘obtained through fraud’. Moreover though Moore is likely suing Cohen because the guy is broke after his failed senate campaign and one can only assume his past which include multiple sexual assault allegations against minors.
In addition to Moore, Cohen also interviewed former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, ex-Trump adviser Corey Lewandowksi, gun activist Dan Roberts, former Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Jason Spencer a former Georgia lawmaker who resigned in disgrace after running bare ass at Cohen during another “Who is America” skit.
