The Trump campaign was hacked according to reports as we got a campaign season throwback of sorts when Hillary Clinton had a bunch of emails stolen leading to punchlines and excuses, from both sides of the aisle back in 2016.

Last month, according to the Trump campaign, an unknown group began emailing documents to Politico who later confirmed the authenticity of the documents with Trump officials which include a 271-page dossier on Trump VP selection JD Vance.

Trump spokesman Steven Cheung is blaming the hack on “foreign sources hostile to the United States” as campaign officials here in the United States ironically decry outside election interference. Cheung added: “On Friday, a new report from Microsoft found that Iranian hackers broke into the account of a ‘high ranking official’ on the U.S. presidential campaign in June 2024.”

Trump posted on Truth Social, “We were just informed by Microsoft Corporation that one of our many websites was hacked by the Iranian Government – Never a nice thing to do!” adding that, “They were only able to get publicly available information but, nevertheless, they shouldn’t be doing anything of this nature. Iran and others will stop at nothing, because our Government is Weak and Ineffective, but it won’t be for long.”

Additionally, the New York Times also says it has received documents in the hack, however, like Politico, the NYT isn’t saying much when it comes to clarifying what they received or the extent of what they received.
